The Ciel Estate Range includes some of our most popular and affordably priced wines. The range currently includes two white wines, a rose and three red wines. The white wines include a Riesling and Pinot Grigio whilst the red wines include a Grenache, a Grenache Shiraz Mataro blend and a Shiraz,
The Ciel Yes Chef Shiraz was produced from a small parcel of shiraz vines located in the Northern part of the Barossa Valley, an area which shares boundaries with the Eden Valley.
This wine is lightly spiced yet plush, juicy and fruit forward. After being basket pressed to get the maximum fruit extraction out of the grapes it was matured in seasoned American and French oak for 14 months.
As the younger sibling to the Ciel Head Chef Shiraz, the Yes Chef Shiraz takes the Head Chef's orders to deliver a wine with light tannins and a full structure. Popping out of the glass from the Head Chef's demands, it stands tall, pushes on and doesn't argue.
Oui Chef, Merci Chef.
The Ciel Hostess Rose is produced from a blend of Montepulciano and Grenache grapes. The Montepulciano grapes are sourced from a vineyard in the Halletts Valley region of the Barossa Valley and are then blended with a small amount of Old Vine Grenache.
The Grenache was naturally wild fermented to complete the dryness, and was left to mature in seasoned French Oak barrels, where it underwent natural fermentation for 3 months before being blended with the Montepulciano before being settled, racked and bottled.
Soft pink in the glass, this Rose features notes of watermelon and cotton candy with rose water aromas all abalnced with lip-smacking acidity.
Like its namesake the Hostess, who is there to provide you with a sweet and soft welcome to get you feeling in the mood, the Ciel Hostess Rose is charming with a dry sense of humour, but with the pinkest lips you have ever seen. Please follow me to your table.
The Ciel Amuse Bouche Pinot Grigio is a beautiful example of cool climate Pinot Grigio out of the gorgeous Eden Valley.
Fresh, salty and refined showing bubble gum and ripe pear like textures with a well rounded mouth feel. Bright fruits unearth crisp and aromatic citrus notes with balanced acidity and a clean after taste.
This wine is certainly like its namesake, Amuse Bouche "Amusing to the Mouth"
The Ciel Les Jus GSM is a Grenache, Shiraz and Metaro blend from the Barossa Valley. Old Vine Grenache from Light Pass is carefully blended with a vibrant Greenock Shiraz showing pink musk stick aromas with layers of delicate textures. A small amount of Mataro has also been added to complete the blend. A well rounded wine with earthy aromase and a lean clean finish that sits perfectly on the palette.
Les Jus is a wine that is in the Foodie wine category. The juice was worth the squeeze. More Jus s'il vous plait.
The Ciel Apprentice Riesling is made from grapes picked from the elegant Eden Valley, an area known for its cooler and softer environment thanks to its higher altitude. Specifically from the Springton region of the Eden Valley, this Riesling shows beautiful fruit, texture, acidity and minerality. The mouthfeel is crisp, cruncky, fresh and zesty with exceptional balance and a nose of white flowers and ripened nectarines.
In its workplace the Apprentice might be the lightest of the pack, but like its namesake, this Apprentice shows an overwhelming surprise of energy and an eagerness to please.
The Ciel Chef de Partie Grenache is sourced from a single vineyard parcel of land in the Gomersal region within the Barossa Valley. The wine is made utilising 25% whole bunches in the fermenter with wild yeast carrying out the fermentation over 15 days. The wine is then matured in French Oak Hogshead barrels for ten months.
This Grenache has been named after the Chef de Partie who runs their section tightly and presents a beautifully finished product with a touch of wholesomeness.
