Head Chef Shiraz (2022 Vintage)

The Ciel Head Chef Shiraz has been sourced from 100-year-old Shiraz vines from Halletts Valley, a small sub region within the Barossa Valley. The Head Chef has been carefully refined using a mix of 15% New French and American oak to give balance, texture and flavour.

The fruit is basket pressed and then naturally fermented using Indigenous yeast and is hand plunged 3 times daily for 10 days. It is then placed in 15% new French Oak and American Oak and barrel fermented for 15 months maturation.

This latest vintage shows elegant fruit with streamlined tannins that offers a layered mouth feel with integrated notes of oak on the palette.

Like its namesake, the Head Chef Shiraz is the leader of the pack in the Icon Collection of Ciel wines. The organiser. The Innovator. Like a perfectly plated dish carefully constructed by the Head Chef, this wine holds a beautifully deep and rich Shiraz full of ego.
